Artist of the Month: Lady Gaga

Julia Winski, Staff Writer

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, or as you may know her, Lady Gaga, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, actress and businesswoman.

Lady Gaga’s first album was called “The Fame,” released in 2008. “The Fame” was very well-received and sold more than 8 million copies worldwide by the end of 2009. From “The Fame” Gaga got five Grammy nominations as well as three Brit Awards in 2010. Personally, I really loved “The Fame” and It makes me very nostalgic. My favorite songs from that album would be “Paparazzi”, “LoveGame”, and “Poker Face”.

In total, Gaga released six studio albums, one film soundtrack, two remix albums, two video albums, two box sets, four EPs, thirty-three singles including three as a featured artist, and twelve promotional singles.

Gaga also performed in the super bowl Super Bowl LI halftime show in 2017, which was a fan favorite Super Bowl show for me.

Her singles before she released her most recent album “Chromatica” include “Stupid love,” “Rain on Me” with Ariana Grande and “911.”

“Chromatica” was released on May 29th and Chromatica’s genre is dance-pop.

It is about love and about earth, wind, fire and water. Gaga spoke on Spotify, “Welcome to Chromatica”, “Kindness rules all things.”

In Gaga’s Apple Music interview with Zane Lowe, she states, “The symbol for Chromatica has a sine wave in it, which is the mathematical symbol for sound, and it’s from what all sound is made from, and, for me, sound is what healed me in my life period, and it healed me again making this record, and that is really what Chromatica is all about.” Gaga also states it’s about bravery and when we talk about love she thinks it’s very important to include that it requires a lot of bravery to love someone.

Music is a very important aspect of someone’s life, and it can make you feel very happy and alive. My favorite songs for her album include, “Replay”, “Enigma”, and “Sour Candy (with BLACKPINK)”

“Chromatica” got a lot of love from critics and fans everywhere. When Gaga’s Chromatica album debuted it reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Chromatica also followed “A Star Is Born” movie soundtrack, which put “Shallow” on the charts, and Gaga played the character “Ally.”

Gaga also has a cosmetic company called HAUS Laboratories. She announced her makeup brand Haus Laboratories with a pre-order on July 15, and officially launched her products exclusively on Amazon in September.

Overall, Lady Gaga did some very impressive things in her career, and the whole world including me can’t wait to see what she will do next in her career.
